How can i get better in triple jump ?

I am a 8th grader. i am 13 years old. i just started doing triple jump this track season n i only got 29ft. coach told me that wont get me a medal in city finals so i want to get better. what exercise can i do in order for me to get better.|||Normally the biggest problem with new jumpers is they go too far in the first phase which causes the second phase to be too short.

You want your phases to be about the same distance, you can practice controlling the action in the first phase and do not go too high because you want to run off the first landing into the second phase if you go too high in the air you will collapse on landing and then try to jump off that landing rather than running off it.

Practice the first two phases on the grass using markers to guide your distances, the important thing is being able to control yourself so you can still get an effective second and third phase.

You can also judge that by the sound or time between landings.
